Gamifant is a prescription medication used to treat primary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), a rare genetic disease characterized by life-threatening inflammatory symptoms. Symptoms may include fever, enlarged liver or spleen, cytopenia (decreased number of blood cells), and neurological abnormalities.

Gamifant belongs to a group of drugs called monoclonal antibodies. These work by binding to interferon gammas and neutralizing them. This results in decreased immune cell production. This medication is available in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare professional. Common side effects of Gamifant include possibility of infection, high blood pressure, and infusion-related reactions.
